Comment: Hi Alan and Denise WOW! 12 years. When my son Cameron enrolled into Tudor House you were only quite new - can that really be 11 years ago! I know that the legacy that you will leave at the school will be massive - but nothing compared to the impact that you had on the boys who were lucky enough to attend while you were Headmaster. Thanks for all that you offered to our family in the 2 memorable years that 'we' spent at Tudor House. All the best of health and happiness for your next adventure. Susie Christie |

Comment:
Alan, Winston Stearn attended Tudor for five terms in your first year of Headmastership. We found this to be a very positive formative time for him. He learnt a great deal, and not just accademically. The main lesson was to be competative within a comunity framework and to find his own talents to propel his ambitions whilst overcoming setbacks. The positive input from all the teaching staff was a very large factor in this part of his personal develepment. We loved spending time there in the School and found the family orientation wonderful. As we cannot attend your farewell dinner we wanted to wish you well and let you know how merit worthy we found Tudor under your custodianship. This is most sincere. - Bill, Jenny and Winston Stearn. |

Alan and Denise-We still fondly remember our interview day and how clever you were Alan at bringing out the best in our Josh. Never before had we seen him open up and embrace school as much as he has at Tudor House. You were our inspiration in sending Josh to Tudor and for that we Thankyou. This photo attached is our proud Josh on his first Day at Tudor House in January 2008. We wish you both all the very best and will certainly miss your wonderful technique and ways with the boys. Keep in touch please - with best wishes Donna & Brian, Josh, Daniella, and Codey Meads-Barlow |

Comment: Tribute to Alan Russell and his wonderful wife, Denise
When Alan and Denise arrived from NZ in 1996 I happened to be the Headmaster’s Secretary, so he inherited me and I him, for better or for worse. Well, what a remarkable - and excellent - five years we had together! Having worked so closely with Alan for that length of time, I certainly came to appreciate the caliber and wonderful qualities of the man. The list of fine qualities is long - good Christian, caring and compassionate, fun, hard-working, super-observant, interested in everything and everyone, logical, passionate about boys’ education and their values and characters – and all this as well as his business and professional expertise. The list could go on and on ……
Denise, you are and always have been there supporting Alan and the boys and a wonderful Librarian as well.
Thank you both for ALL the care for the Tudor House community – boys, parents, staff. You are a most remarkable couple. May God guide you and look after you both in your future. You will be much missed. |

Comment: To Alan and Denise With thanks for your friendship during a memorable part of our lives, and congratulations for your magnificent contribution towards developing and building the character and bearing of so many young men who grew up in the Tudor House tradition. We remember fondly the many Fisher House picnics we hosted at our farm at Carrington Falls. For us Tudor House is that special place where little boys can be little boys, for a little bit longer. Our love and best wishes to you both. |
